The New Star choke valve utilizes a robust body orifice and the ability to manually or remotely control well production flow at the wellhead and or flowline with a highly engineered choke trim design.  The flow trim is pressure balanced to minimize the stem loads and provide low operating torques. Standard and customized slotted ports. Standard or customized end connections are available.

Type H2 Positive & Adjustable Chokes

The type H2 Choke from New Star Flow Control features the needle and seat design to allow fully adjustable flow. The adjustable choke is operated by rotating the hand wheel in order to obtain a desired flow rate or a specified downstream pressure. The H2 is also available in a positive or fixed orifice design. In this model, a flow bean is installed in the choke to achieve the desired flowing conditions.

The 4” Nom model H2 is a great choice for any flow application requiring a max orifice of a 3” diameter. The adjustable type features a needle & seat design to allow fully adjustable flow and is constructed of the same high quality materials as our other H2 models to deliver many years of trouble-free service. The positive choke in turn utilizes a flow bean to achieve the desired flow conditions.

New Star Flow Control manufactures chokes of the FMC profile ranging in pressure classes from 2,000 PSI CWP to 15,000 PSI CWP. These chokes feature full interchangeability of parts with those of original manufacturer and in a wide variety of end connections, which include flanged, threaded, butt-weld, and union ends. The flanged models are available in both API and ANSI type flanges. Assemblies may be supplied in alloy steel, 410SS, and duplex materials. The design of this choke is time proven and has been used in the oil and gas industry for many years. It is appealing due to its simple yet rugged design, with all of this at an affordable price.

Steam Choke Assembly

The New Star Flow Control  steam choke uses a non-rotating stem with linear motion that won’t grab the packing and pull it out of place. Simply tighten the packing gland when packing is in need of adjustment. The gland nut is easily adjusted since it is externally located. The steam choke employs a graphoil type packing with a temperature range of -32 degrees F to 850 degrees F and features a mechanical type bonnet assembly, which is isolated from the steam flow. This prolongs the life of all major components and gives the operator reliable service and simple maintenance. H2I Profile Chokes Nom 4"

Our H2I model is a conventional needles and seat type choke, which is available in both positive and adjustable configurations. It is manufactured in 3000 PSI and 5000 PSI pressure classes and features a maximum orifice size of 3”. The design of this choke is based on the popular Cameron® H2 and features full interchangeability of parts. The main feature of this choke is the internal acme thread in the choke body which allows for a significant reduction in weight of component parts used in the assembly. The H2I is a great choke when a reliable large bore choke is required.

Model HSI Choke 15,000 PSI

Model HSI Choke 15,000 PSI​

The model HSI 15,000 choke assembly is the perfect choice for fracturing and flowback applications. It is rated at 15,000 PSI design working pressure and outfitted with the ever so popular 1502 union to allow for easy installation and removal. The HSI choke features full interchangeability of parts with the same choke manufactured by others and utilizes the common OTC type N seat and FC-140 flow bean. This is a big advantage in that these replacement parts are common supply store items and easy to locate. Make the HSI 1502 assembly your choice when you require a simple yet reliable choke assembly. New Star Flow Control also carries a full line of replacement parts and choke beans for both the positive and adjustable models.

Heater Chokes

New Star Flow Control.. Manufactures long nose heater chokes.. Whether it is for a high pressure application or just a basic low pressure economy type heater choke, we have you covered.. Our 6500/7800 PSI economy choke is very popular in that it is designed after the legendary Thornhill Craver type and offers full interchangeability of parts.. Next in our line-up is the model TB-10, which is a 10,000 PSI model, also available with single bolt couplings, just like that of the Thornhill Craver choke assembly.. This allows for easy assembly and removal of choke assembly both in the shop or the field.. Perhaps the most important feature of the TB-10 is that it bears the same centerline as that of the Thornhill Craver.. This makes it a great choke when a replacement choke is required.. Last of all is our model H2, which gives the customer a large bore choke at an affordable price.. It is available in orifice sizes of 1”, 1 ½”, +2” with a variation of end connections. 

Actuators

Most of the actuator types and brands can be adapted into our choke valve. Upgrading from manual
choke valve to actuated choke valve does not require to disassembly choke valve, only additional
mounting adapter parts are required.

New Star Flow control ACV choke valve and actuator are can be separated in each unit assembly. So by
plug and play the actuator unit into the choke valve will have efficient maintenance and less downtime
production cost. An urgent fixing the actuator failure will not be an issue anymore, the unit actuator’s
assy inventory is easy to go and replaced.
